I willingly admit my addiction to TopChef. All five seasons. But until this year, I was merely a spectator. I sat quietly --OK, not quietly...I will admit to whining at Stephen, b#@*^ing at Marcel, cheering Stephanie--in the privacy of my home. A few select friends and I would discect the shows sedately, over coffee, the morning after broadcast.
This season, I crossed the line. I entered that indefinable realm of cyberfan. Twittering with Spike and Andrew (a bit Twilight Zone-ish, as my show feed is 2 hours later than the Twitter conversations). Reading and often agreeing with Amuse-Biatch. And, this part is hardest to admit, playing the Top Chef game at the Bravo website.
And herein lies my problem; my tiny, petty, insignificant little problem. I don't think the folks at Bravo can add. Maybe they were trying to get in a "New Orleans Mardi Gras" mood and were in high spirits (so to speak). Or they were too busy waiting for Padma to break out of that cage she was wearing? I don't know.
Here's the breakdown (you can check it at Bravo's site): Carla scored 12 pts, Hosea had 3, Stefan and Fabio were both on the negative side with -1 and -5 respectively. The problem: if my 3 chefs are Carla, Fabio and Hosea, why did I score 0? Should I not have 10? Is Bravo manipulating the home scores the way it manipulates the video (see AmuseBiatch blogs on Christmas and "LeaHosea" kiss timing)?
Just had to get it off my chest. Or is my math wrong?
